You ever hear about an artist all the time, but never see any music from them? Add-2 is that artist for me. I've always heard freestyles and random guest spots on other mixtapes from him, but I've yet to hear a full work from him since I've been blogging. I guess the blogging/music god heard my prayers, because Add-2 is set to drop his new mixtape 'Tale Of Two’s City v.4: Better Days' later this summer. This freestyle won't be on the tape, but it's a good chance to showcase a new face from the Chicago scene, and see how nasty he gets on wax. I said this the first time I featured Add-2, but he reminds me a lot of Lupe. Maybe it's the glasses, or maybe it's the lyricism. Whatever the case, dude spits straight heat rocks over Q-Tip's 'Getting Up'...

Been bombarding you guys with music lately, simply because I think most artists are done with their winter vacations and are trying to build up buzz for the summer. Add-2 is a new face on Dear Whoever, and he definitely won't be seeing his last time on the blog. The Chicago native reminds me of Lupe with a rapid-fire flow and a much more poisonous tongue. By poisonous, I mean he won't hesitate to curse, talk about what he's really really thinking and is a lot more palatable. That's no knock on Lupe, nor is that calling Add-2 the shit; it's simply a comparison. I hope his new offering 'Better Days' puts the guy on the hip-hop radar. He definitely has the talent...

Freestyle Friday (12/11)

It's a Friday. Freestyles would be on deck, usually. However, this week, I haven't come across a lot of good ciphers, so we're gonna go with a freestyle remix. The first one is from Wale over Say Something. He sounds like he's back on his old flow, but he definitely goes heavy on the lyrics in this one. The second one is from a newcomer named Add-2. This is my first time hearing about the man, and I was immediately WOWed. I'm sure you will be, too. Check out both of these freestyles and make sure you keep it locked to Dear Whoever.
